The Human League need no introduction of course; the Sheffield based synth-pop band achieved wide-spread commercial success in the early 1980s and have influenced countless artists. Cherry Red now have non-exclusive representation of their debut single ‘Being Boiled’. Originally released on the Fast Product label in 1978, the Phil Oakey, Martyn Ware and Ian Craig Marsh penned song was a groundbreaking moment in the evolution of electronica. It inspired the likes of Gary Numan, Andy McCluskey (OMD) andVince Clarke (Depeche Mode) and was even declared “the future of music” by none other than David Bowie. FOXY FRIENDS

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
