THEY WERE GIANTS

Still going to this day, Sad Lovers And Giants spent the 1980s carving a niche between moody post-punk, atmospheric synth-pop and edgy ‘dark wave’ soundscapes. Their track ‘Things We Never Did’ is consistently one of our most streamed recordings – quite amazing, given it was originally just a B-side of ‘Colourless Dream’, the band’s second single back in 1981, before appearing on debut album Epic Garden Music. Over the years, though, ‘Things We Never Did’ has become ever more popular, chosen for various compilations of 80s ‘dark wave’ and alternative music. The majority of Sad Lovers And Giants’ recordings are available for licence from Cherry Red.

FOXY FRIENDS

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
