THERE’S A RIOT GOING ON

Formed in London in 1964, Beat/Mod band The Riot Squad signed to Pye, making seven singles for the label before leaving in 1967, some featuring future Jimi Hendrix drummer Mitch Mitchell. Thereafter, David Bowie joined the band, resulting in an album’s worth of demos not released till much later. We now have rights to all of the band’s mid-60s productions for legendary maverick Joe Meek, including the singles ‘Cry, Cry, Cry’, ‘I Take It That We’re Through’, ‘It’s Never Too Late To Forgive’ and the final single of his productions released during Meek’s lifetime, ‘Gotta Be A First Time’.
