The Song Remains The Plain
Plainsong was originally a British country rock/folk rock band, formed in early 1972 by Iain Matthews, formerly of Fairport Convention and Matthews Southern Comfort, and Andy Roberts, previously of Everyone and The Liverpool Scene.
Released in 1972, the band’s debut album In Search Of Amelia Earhart became Record Mirror’s Contemporary Folk record of the Year.
The band split soon after release, taking eighteen years for a revival and recording several more albums in the process. Cherry Red look after the exclusive rights to both eras of Plainsong.
