The Road Goes To Cherry Red!

The Road Goes To Cherry Red!

The Road Goes On Forever label launched in 1991 but its second incarnation began in 1993 when author/journalist/broadcaster John Tobler began running the label. Dabbling initially in progressive rock, the label started to dedicate more resources towards roots music, as folk, R&B, country and jazz began to fill its roster.

One of the label stalwarts is the legendary Steve Gibbons, who had successful UK singles with ‘Tulane’ and ‘Eddy Vortex’. Gibbons also fronted The Dylan Project, a band of seasoned musicians playing – appropriately enough – Bob Dylan songs, which also included Fairport Convention’s rhythm section Dave Pegg and Gerry Conway.

Other artists on the RGF label include Texan folk diva Carolyn Hester, singer-songwriter Wes McGhee, Scottish blues band Blues ‘N’ Trouble and highly rated US troubadour Tom Pacheco.

Cherry Red are delighted to be the custodians of the RGF label going forward.
