Take No Quartz-er!
Quartz are a British heavy metal band behind several albums from the late 70s to early 80s, who reformed in 2016 for a new studio LP. Their debut self-titled album was produced by Tony Iommi, who took the band on tour with his band Black Sabbath in 1977. Further bill-sharing with the likes of Iron Maiden, Saxon, UFO and Rush followed but Quartz disbanded in 1984. Their track ‘Street Fighting Lady’ has been featured in recent BBC series This Town, which follows the rise of ska and two-tone music from its roots in Coventry and the West Midlands in the late ‘70s. Cherry Red represent the rights to much of Quartz’s back catalogue, including Quartz (1977), Fear No Evil (2016), Too Hot To Handle (2015), Back In The Band (2013) and Resurrection (1996).
