With a career launched on the back of The Beatles-led Merseybeat boom of 1963, Liverpudlian Cilla Black became one of the most successful female performers in British pop. In due course, she was also a notable TV personality, famous for her affable persona hosting shows such as Blind Date and Surprise Surprise. Among other recordings by Cilla, Cherry Red represents the rights to the theme tune for ‘Surprise Surprise’, which became a surprise (no pun intended) viral hit across social media, trending on TikTok and Instagram Reels.
