SWEET SEVENTIES SOUL

‘Oh Honey‘ by British funk/soul group Delegation is a smooth, romantic classic which became a Top 10 R&B hit in the US charts in 1978 on State Records. Built around silky vocals and a lush production, the song captured themes of affection and longing with an effortless elegance which helped it become a staple of smooth radio alike and a lasting touchstone of sophisticated soul/R&B. Cherry Red now represent the track, as part of our wider acquisition of the State catalogue, including many other tracks by Delegation. Drop us a line to hear more.

FOXY FRIENDS

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
