SUMMERVILLE WATER?

Pop icon Jimmy Somerville, famed for his distinctive falsetto and his work with Bronski Beat and The Communards, continued his long-standing love affair with disco on the album Homage, a project dedicated to recreating the rich, euphoric sound of classic 1970s dance music. One of the album’s standout tracks, ‘Strong Enough’, captures that spirit with sweeping strings, a driving rhythm and Jimmy’s unmistakable vocals. The track recently found a new audience through its inclusion in the TV drama Summerwater, adapted from the novel by Sarah Moss.

FOXY FRIENDS

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
