Next Friday, we release a 3-CD box set, entitled 1979: Revolt Into Style, which remembers a momentous year of post-punk, new wave, power pop and other UK styles.

Cherry Red controls the rights to many tracks on this new compilation by the likes of The Fall, Alternative TV, The Outsiders, The Monochrome Set, The Outcasts and Spizzenergi.

We’ve also recently acquired rights to period tracks by cult bands such as Salford Jets, The Wasps, Innocent Vicars and Venus & The Razorblades. Drop us a line if you’re curious.

FOXY FRIENDS

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
