Legendary folk-rock band Strawbs were founded in 1964 as a bluegrass outfit, eventually expanding their repertoire to embrace, folk, progressive and even glam rock.

Their discography now stretches to around 25 studio albums, plus many more live recordings and compilations, which found a home at Cherry Red after we acquired their Witchwood Media catalogue.

This relationship dates back to 1973, when Cherry Red promoted a Strawbs show at Malvern Winter Gardens, Worcestershire.

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
