Square and Birds Nest

Square and Birds Nest

We’re proud to announce the acquisition of two fascinating, ‘sister’ labels from the 1970s.

Square Records was responsible for albums by Dear Mr. Time (the collectable Grandfather, pictured, from 1970) and Crispian St. Peters, as well as various singles by the likes of Mataya CliffordJulie Bergen and Stephen Arlen.

Meanwhile, the later and more prolific Birds Nest imprint was behind Agnes Strange‘s now valuable classic rock LP Strange Flavour (1975), as well as singles which ran the gamut of musical styles, including The Rowdies’ rare punk 45 ‘A.C.A.B.’, disco favourites from The Warlord (‘The Ultimate Warlord’) and Bee (a cover of Sandie Shaw’s ‘Girl Don’t Come’) and a desirable rockabilly revival nugget from Melvin’s Marauders.
