Spencer Davis’ Souvenir

The Souvenir is a new Anglo-American drama film starring Tilda Swinton, Tom Burke and Honor Swinton Byrne, which was premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on 27 January.

The plot concerns a shy film student finding her voice as an artist while navigating a turbulent courtship with a charismatic but untrustworthy man.

The soundtrack includes an obscure 1968 album track by the Spencer Davis Group, a jazzy instrumental entitled ‘Alec In Transitland’, which is controlled by Cherry Red.

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
