Souvenir From Tenth Avenue

Mick Ronson’s version of Slaughter On Tenth Avenue has been chosen to appear in the upcoming film The Souvenir Part II. Originally a ballet with music by Richard Rodgers, Mick chose the name as the title track to his debut solo album of the same name.

The former lead guitarist of David Bowie’s legendary band The Spiders From Mars knew, and liked, the music from his childhood piano training. The Souvenir Part II is written and directed by Joanna Hogg. It is a sequel to 2019’s The Souvenir.

Starring Honor Swinton Byrne, Tilda Swinton and Charlie Heaton, with Martin Scorsese as executive producer – the film centres around a young film student in the early 80s who becomes romantically involved with a complicated and untrustworthy man.

The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
