Soulful Sonic Buzz

With their crisp melodies, biting lyrics and driving guitars, Buzzcocks were one of the most influential bands to emerge from the initial wave of punk rock.

Eschewing politics for the most part, they instead brought an intense, brilliant vigour to the three-minute pop song. Steve Diggle is the main driving force behind the current trio, with a new album out today – Sonics In The Soul – which further cements his place in the punk/pop canon.

Cherry Red are proud to be working with the band: we represent several albums from their illustrious past, including studio efforts Buzzcocks (2003), Flat-Pack Philosophy (2006) and The Way (2014), plus various collections of live and rare material.

FOXY FRIENDS

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
