Sonic Souls

With their crisp melodies, biting lyrics and driving guitars, Buzzcocks were one of the most influential bands to emerge from the initial wave of punk rock.

Eschewing politics for the most part, they brought an intense, brilliant vigour to the three-minute pop song instead.

Steve Diggle is the main driving force behind the current trio, and a new album slated for September – Sonics In The Soul – further cements his place in the punk rock canon.

Cherry Red are proud to be releasing the new album and represents several albums from the band’s back catalogue, including studio efforts Buzzcocks (2003), Flat-Pack Philosophy (2006) and The Way (2014), and various live and rarity albums.

FOXY FRIENDS

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
