Sky’s ‘Westway’ Road test

Torque was a motoring TV show which ran from 1974 to 1980 on Australian station ABC, hosted by journalist and race car driver Peter Wherrett (pictured).

A selection of road tests from the series are now being re-broadcast under the banner Retro Focus Presents: Classic Torque Road Tests.

And one such clip is now accompanied by the track ‘Westway’ by classical rock supergroup Sky.

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
