Skateboarding magazine ‘Thrasher’ feature Fat Mattress’ ‘Mr. Moonshine’ in latest campaign

The world’s premier skateboarding magazine, Thrasher, are running an online video campaign using one of Cherry Red’s lesser-known tracks, ‘Mr. Moonshine’ by Fat Mattress.

The band are most notable for being formed by Jimi Hendrix Experience bassist Noel Redding and made two albums in 1969/70 before Noel re-joined Jimi’s group.

All their recordings are available for licence.

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
