Shake In The City

Shake In The City

Musician and singer-songwriter Iain Matthews was an original member of legendary folk rock band Fairport Convention from 1967 to 1969 before leaving to form Matthews Southern Comfort, who scored a UK number one in 1970 with Joni Mitchell’s ‘Woodstock’. In 1979, Iain’s cover of Terence Boylan’s ‘Shake It’ reached No. 13 on the US charts. A perfect slice of soft rock, ‘Shake It’ has been used in a recent episode of HBO’s Sex and the City revival sequel And Just Like That. Cherry Red are the proud representatives of over thirty studio albums and over sixty live concerts from Iain’s solo career from the late 70s onwards (as well as his parallel career with Plainsong from the early 70s and the noughties).
