ROCK AROUND THE CLOCK

National Album Day returns tomorrow, Saturday 18th October, celebrating the art of the album with this year’s theme focused on Rock. Now in its 8th year, the event – organised by the BPI and ERA – encourages music fans to fully engage with albums, old and new, and reminds us of the creativity and storytelling that make them central to popular culture. We have two albums released to coincide with this now vital date in the calendar: the aforementioned Mozart Estate album; and the new studio LP from prog rock legends John Lees’ Barclay James Harvest, their first since 2013, Relativity, which is out today.

FOXY FRIENDS

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
