Rebel Alliance

Rebel Alliance

The fusion of punk and reggae became a blueprint for bands seeking to break free from the constraints of genre. Our new 3-CD set, Roots Rock Rebels – When Punk Met Reggae 1975-1982 explores that period when reggae artists inspired many aspirant punk and new wave acts and  often shared bills for Rock Against Racism events and the like. In turn, the two styles fused during the 2Tone ska revival boom of 1979. Cherry Red represent the rights to many punk-reggae crossover tunes, including track from Glaxo Babies, The Piranhas, Weapon Of Peace and Creation Rebel. Drop us a line if you’d like to hear more.
