Pucking Perfect
The Defects are a punk rock band from Belfast, Northern Ireland, formed in 1978.
The line-up of Ian “Buck” Murdock (vocals), Marcus “Dukie” Duke (guitar), Jeff Gilmore (bass) and Glenn Kingsmore (drums) wrote and recorded their debut album in 1982, epitomising the sound of what we know call UK82, or early 80s British punk. Their cover version of Elvis Presley’s ’Suspicious Minds’ was released in early 1984 and has been used in 2020 TV mini-series Puckers; a Norwegian documentary centred around an amateur hockey team, the Kirkenes Puckers.
