PRAYER FOR RESOLUTION

Bridge To Resolution, the new album from Napalm Death bassist Shane Embury, will be released in June – and ‘Spasm Prayer’ is the lead single. Embury’s debut album offers a stark and introspective contrast to his work with Napalm Death. Written during the COVID-19 pandemic, the track reflects the album’s broader themes of self-examination and “shadow integration”, blending atmospheric post-punk textures with layered instrumentation and vocals. Drawing on influences such as Cocteau Twins and Killing Joke, ‘Spasm Prayer’ highlights a more contemplative and expansive side of his songwriting, rooted in mood, space and emotional depth rather than intensity alone. FOXY FRIENDS

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
