OUR HOUSE(SITTER)
American songwriter and soul singer Mack Rice was one of the great behind-the-scenes figures of classic R&B, best known for writing enduring standards such as ‘Mustang Sally’ and ‘Respect Yourself’. Alongside his songwriting successes for artists across the Stax Records and soul music world, Rice also recorded a series of distinctive solo tracks, including the warm, soulful ‘Baby I’m Coming Home’. Decades after its original release in 1964, the song has been used in a recent advertising campaign for TrustedHousesitters, which connects travellers with trusted sitters to care for pets while owners are away.
