One More Black

Dave Grohl has created a new documentary film, What Drives Us. The film finds the Foo Fighters frontman exploring the mindset that compels musicians to leave behind everything and spend months touring the country in a tiny van. The documentary delves into “motivations, recounts personal anecdotes, and explores the physical and psychological toll of touring in vans”.

Along the way, Grohl interviews members of bands such diverse as as Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, Metallica and The Beatles. Footage from Black Flag’s 1984 gig at the Bier Keller in Bradford is used in the film; this concert is just one of many examples from our impressive audio-visual catalogue.

Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
