Native Sons

Cited as key players in the so-called ‘Paisley Underground’ scene of the early-to-mid- 80s, American band The Long Ryders were actually rooted as much in alternative country music (Gram Parsons style) as psychedelia. We are the proud representatives of various Long Ryders and Sid Griffin albums. This includes live recordings, demos, B-sides, alternative mixes and previously unreleased recordings from the albums Native Sons (1984) and State Of Our Union (1985), including the cult hit ‘I Had A Dream’, Children Of Nuggets favourite ‘And She Rides’ and the country/garage romps ‘10-5-60’ and ‘Tell It To The Judge On Sunday’. Native Sons is released today as a deluxe 3-CD set.

FOXY FRIENDS

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
