This year’s National Album Day celebrations are 1990s themed, so what better way to reintroduce our dedicated 90s pop label 90/9. Committed to the best of pop music from the decade. The imprint’s label release is by Dannii Minogue, whose 25^th anniversary edition of her 1997 Girl album is out today on CD and vinyl. Cherry Red represent plenty of 90s pop gems, including albums from Hazel O’Connor, Holly Johnson, Howard Jones, Cicero, Kevin Rowland, Marc Almond, Toyah and more. Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
