Meteoric Rise

Formed in 1980, and still going to this day, The Meteors all but defined a new musical genre, Psychobilly, which fused 50s Rockabilly stylings with the brutal energy of Punk.

Led by P. Paul Fenech, the band notched up numerous indie hits across the 1980s, including manic covers of ‘Bad Moon Rising’, ‘Go Buddy Go’, ‘Rawhide’, ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ and ‘Surf City’, alongside original material such as ‘I’m Just A Dog’.

FOXY FRIENDS

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
