Marine Girls On TV

Prior to co-forming Everything But The Girl, Tracey Thorn was in The Marine Girls, who made two albums’ worth of charming, DIY indie pop, Beach Party (1981) and Lazy Ways (1983).

Their lo-fi favourite ‘A Place In The Sun’ can be heard in the soundtrack for Vice TV’s new ‘British Masterpieces’ documentary about Tracey Thorn. Drop us a line if you’d like to hear more.

FOXY FRIENDS

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
