KOP A LOAD OF THIS

The Kop Choir’s stirring rendition of ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ is one of football’s most iconic recordings, capturing the unmistakable sound of Liverpool supporters in full voice at Anfield. Originally made famous by Gerry & The Pacemakers’ 1963 chart-topping version, the song became synonymous with Liverpool FC and was immortalised on The Kop Choir album in 1972. The track has featured in The Miracle Of Istanbul, a new Apple TV documentary charting Liverpool FC’s successful 2005 Champions League campaign.

FOXY FRIENDS

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
