JONAH IN THE HOUSE!

Based in London, Julian Jonah was at the vanguard during the mid-to-late 80s explosion of UK dance music. Inspired by the first wave of Chicago house and the ensuing acid house boom, Jonah made a string of soulful classics, including 1987’s dancefloor filler ‘Jealousy & Lies’ – a part of the soundtrack at underground clubs and warehouse parties in East London and Manchester. The track inspired Billie Ray Martin with “Talking With Myself” by Electribe 101; in 1990, Julian and Billie collaborated on ‘It’s A Jungle Out There’. FOXY FRIENDS

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
