IT’S LULU – AND BOBBY!

Back in 1993, pop star Lulu teamed up with US soul legend Bobby Womack for a remake of ‘I’m Back For More;’ originally recorded by Al Johnson and Jean Carn. This contemporary take on classic soul rewarded Lulu with a Top 30 hit and led to Bobby’s sole appearance on long-running UK TV series Top of the Pops. The video, which you can watch below, was shot in Los Angeles – largely in and around Venice Beach/Santa Monica. The track is part of the veritable Dome catalogue, the prolific UK soul/R&B label which includes the likes of Beverley Knight, Incognito, George Duke and many others. Drop us a line to hear more.

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
