Irish Emerald
We’re proud to announce that Cherry Red Records are now the custodians of the legendary Emerald Music, which has specialized in Irish, Scottish and Celtic music for over half a century.
From Irish show bands to Scottish pipe outfits, country singers to accordion music, folk artists to budding pop stars, Celtic musicians to rock combos, Emerald has originated hundreds of singles and albums since the early 1960s.
Among the key acts are Big Tom & The Mainliners (pictured, best known for their Irish Top 10 hit from 1966, ‘Gentle Mother’), The Miami Showband, Sydney Devine, Bridie Gallagher, Andy Stewart, comedy group Clubsound, prog rock band Light (featuring ex-members of Them), dance DJ Micky Modelle, techno duo Celtic Pride and the John Anderson Big Band (a forerunner of hit 80s act Jive Bunny).
