I’m Mandy Fly Me

Welsh-born model Mandy Rice-Davies made the headlines back in 1963 via her role in the Profumo scandal.

This infamous story was recently re-told via the BBC series The Trial Of Christine Keeler, the soundtrack to which included Mandy’s stab at a recording career.

Her cover of Marv Johnson’s ‘You’ve Got What It Takes’ (an early Berry Gordy production) was part of an Ember Records EP, Introducing Mandy.

Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
