Hot Milk imprint acquires Linval Thompson, Ranking Dread & more

Hot Milk is a relatively new imprint within Cherry Red, dedicated to Jamaican Reggae and Dub music from the 70s and 80s. Several Hot Milk releases are available for license, from Boss Man’s Dub by Linval Thompson to Girl’s Fiesta by Ranking Dread, Barry Brown’s The Thompson Sound and the original Jamaican mix of Lee Perry’s legendary LP The Good, The Bad And The Upsetters!

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
