HIGH LIVING

‘Living On The Ceiling’ became the breakthrough hit for Blancmange when it was released back in 1982. Blending offbeat synth-pop with distinctive Eastern-inspired instrumentation and quirky lyrical charm, the track stood apart from much of the era’s electronic pop. In 2013, the band reworked the track for their album Happy Families Too…. It’s this version which recently featured in The Cage, a new BBC crime drama series starring Sheridan Smith and Michael Socha.

FOXY FRIENDS

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
