Hello New York!

If there’s a word to describe 1970’s UK rock band Hello, it’s glam. If there’s a word to describe American luxury fashion label Kate Spade New York, it’s glam.

They might be opposite ends of each other’s spectrum but put them together and you get a masterclass of style and substance.

Hello’s 1978 hit single ‘New York Groove’, later a hit for Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley, has been used in a new advert from the popular design house for a new perfume, which features American dancer Maddie Ziegler.

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
