Have Merce-y On Us?

The Merced Blue Notes were a central California R&B/rock & roll band active from 1957 to the mid-1960s, known for their energetic live shows. Despite line-up changes, guitarist and singer Kenny Craig remained the constant member; they recorded on various labels but never achieved national success. Another members, Bobby Hunt, went on to work with Fleetwood Mac’s Bob Welch. The Merced Blue Notes’ track ‘Your Tender Lips’ has featured in the new series of hit TV drama Gangs Of London, currently streaming on Netflix.

FOXY FRIENDS

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
