We couldn’t let Friday 13th go by without mentioning the dark-hearted spirit of 80s goth rock.
That was a time when a whole movement took the energy and edge of punk, the darker elements of 70s glam rock and even strains of psychedelia and forged them into new sounds. A whole “look” was born – in a word, black! – which has transcended its era and remains an iconic fashion/style to this day.
Cherry Red control the rights to many eery, menacing, doom-laden recordings by the likes of Alien Sex Fiend, Theatre Of Hate, Flesh For Lulu, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, Skeletal Family, Ausgang, The Screaming Dead, Inca Babies, Hula and 1919.
