Gong But Not Forgotten

Gong But Not Forgotten

Gong were an Anglo-French progressive rock band who incorporated elements of jazz and space rock into their music.

Formed in Paris in 1967 by Daevid Allen and Gylli Smyth, the collective has featured musicians such as Steve Hillage, Bill Laswell, Theo Travis and Hawkwind’s Tim Blake.

Cherry Red are the custodians of plenty of Smyth’s solo work, including the 1978 studio album Mother, It’s All A Dream (2001), Paradise (2012) and Live In USA 1979. Still a touring member of Hawkwind,

Tim Blake made critically acclaimed solo albums Crystal Music (1977) and Blake’s New Jerusalem (1978), which are under the Cherry Red roster, alongside other studio and live albums from across his 42-year solo career.
