Going, Going, Gomm

Ian Gomm, formerly the guitarist for Brinsley Schwarz, transitioned to a solo career after the band’s demise in 1975. Known for his work with various artists and contributions to numerous records, Gomm’s single ‘Hold On’ from his first solo album became a notable success in 1979, reaching number 18 on the Billboard Hot 100. This catchy pop-rock tune, characterised by its upbeat tempo and melodic hooks, highlighted Gomm’s smooth vocals and guitar work, cementing his reputation as a talented singer-songwriter.
