Glammed Up

Glammed Up

Back in the early 1970s, Glam Rock was de rigeur. At its most primal, Glam regurgitated classic rock’n’roll riffs over a sledgehammer stomp, all performed by bands in flares, platform boots and questionable haircuts.  From the art school pretensions of Glam’s thinkers (namely, David Bowie and Roxy Music) to the hipshaking bubblegum rock of Chinn and Chapman (Suzi Quatro et al), Glam was a revolution. Drop us a line if you’d like to know more about Cherry Red’s Glam-era catalogue, which include hits by the likes of Hello (‘New York Groove’, ‘Tell Him’) and many others.
