GIVE ME A KISS-OON!

Mac & Katie Kissoon’s 70s gem ‘Sugar Candy Kisses’ was one of the biggest successes from State Records, combining polished songwriting and a soul/disco/pop crossover appeal. Originally released in 1975, the song reached No. 3 in the UK, proving to be the crowning moment from the sibling duo’s prolific career which harked back to the mid-60s (collectively and solo). With Cherry Red’s recent acquisition of State, ‘Sugar Candy Kisses’ is joined by other highlights from the likes of Delegation, Rokotto and Gary Benson. Drop us a line to hear more.

FOXY FRIENDS

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
