GANGS OF LEEDS!
‘Damaged Goods’ was the explosive debut single from Leeds’ post-punk favourites Gang of Four, released in October 1978 on Fast Product. With its jagged guitar riffs, syncopated bass, and politically charged lyrics about sexual politics and emotional detachment, the track captured the raw energy of the post-punk movement. We are proud to represent the track, alongside other Fast Product repertoire. Bob Last’s truly seminal British post-punk label provided a template for what followed (Factory, Rough Trade, etc.) and burned brightly for two years before being re-born in 1981 as Pop:Aural. The two labels’ influential output also includes landmark early singles by The Mekons, The Human League, Scars, The Fire Engines and others.
