F.J. McMahon tracks featured on new Netflix comedy series ‘Easy’

F.J. McMahon‘s lo-fi American psychedelic folk album Spirit Of The Golden Juice from 1969 has long been held in high esteem by aficionados and collectors – for the uninitiated, think a more obscure Tim Hardin or Fred Neil.

But his songs have also proved popular of late with music supervisors.

Two of his tunes, ‘The Road Back Home’ and ‘The Learned Man’, appear in a new Netflix TV series, Easy, a comedy-drama set in Chicago.

Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
