Excess Baggy-Age Allowed!

Britpop was a term coined by Select magazine in 1993 to describe a new wave of British acts who provided an alternative to US grunge. Our new 4-CD anthology due in October, Popscene: From Baggy To Britpop 1989-1994, traces the development of indie music from the ‘Baggy’ sound of 1989 to the early days of the Britpop explosion in 1994. Cherry Red represents plenty of relevant music from that era, including early tracks by The Mock Turtles, Ned’s Atomic Dustbin, The Popguns, The Times and The Stairs– drop us a line if you’d like to know more.
