Evidently Chickentown

Frank Chickens are a Japanese synth-punk pop group who formed in 1982. Favourites of John Peel, they have performed at the Edinburgh Fringe, hosted a television chat show on Channel 4 and have released five studio albums, including Get Chickenized (1987) and Club Monkey (1988), both of which are now under exclusive license at Cherry Red. The cult act are the brainchild of duo Kazuko Hohki and Kazumi Taguchi but the group has expanded to over 20 members over the decades. There are plans for a CD boxset later this year. FOXY FRIENDS

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
