Down To Future Earth
Like many indie labels, Future Earth was born in that big bang of excitement following the punk explosion of 1977.
Based in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, the label released a string of now valuable new wave and heavy metal 45s between 1979 and 1986 by acts likely to cause vinyl collectors to salivate – by acts such as Helsinki 5 Below, Richard And The Taxmen, B.T.P. Folders and Back Seat Romeos.
Cherry Red have acquired the rights to the Future Earth catalogue, which also includes albums by the likes of U.V. Pop, Michael Chapman and Rick Kemp, US punk icon Jayne County and heavy rock bands Chinawite, Snowblind, Syar and Blacklace.
