Cherry Red are now the custodians of rock and metal label Dissonance, which is devoted to the more extreme side of music.

The catalogue runs to around 130 releases. Notable albums include At The Gates’ Gardens Of Grief, Holy Terror’s Terror & Submission and Ascension Of The Watchers’ Apocrypha.

Notable other bands to have recorded on Dissonance include Tokyo Blade, Grim Reaper, Hecate Enthroned, Thy Primordial and Usurper.

FOXY FRIENDS

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
