Dining Out Label

Formed in 1979, London-based DIY new wave label Dining Out was the vehicle for (future) music journalist Dave Henderson to release a host of records brimming with new wave artiness, primal electronic melodies, wonky pop, dishevelled funk riffs, drum-machines and analogue synths. Between 1979 and 1982, they unveiled a host of John Peel favourites filled with angst and invention from the likes of The Adicts, Normil Hawaiians, Club Tango, Farm Life, New Age and The Swinging Laurels, alongside Dave’s own band The Disco Zombies (pictured) and more. FOXY FRIENDS

Noosha Fox and friends injected some sophisticated glamour into the UK charts of the mid-1970s. Fox‘s ‘Only You Can’ peaked at No. 3 while ‘S-S-S Single Bed‘ peaked one place lower. ‘If I Point At The Moon’, taken from their 1975 self-titled album, is a lilting, sublime pop ditty that sounds remarkably timeless. The song is featured in the US drama mini-series A Friend Of The Family, which aired recently on the Peacock network.
